Drivers escape uninjured from morning bingle

6/08/2008 8:45:00 AM
THE corner of Upper and Brisbane streets was a hive of activity yesterday morning when a 4WD and a utility collided at the busy intersection.

Both drivers were lucky to escape the accident unscathed after the utility failed to give way and collided with the 4WD heading down Brisbane St.

“The utility overturned as a result of the impact but luckily none of the people involved were seriously injured,” a Tamworth Police spokesman said.

“Police, firefighters from the NSW Fire Brigade, paramedics and an ambulance rescue team attended the incident.”

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

“It is expected one vehicle will be issued with an infringement notice for failing to give way,” the spokesman said.
