 Super TABs for Southgate Inn

Super TABs for Southgate Inn

16/05/2008 9:18:00 AM
ON MONDAY the South Tamworth TAB will close to undergo some major renovations but punters should not fret, they will still be able to place bets at the bar.

After 14 years at the Southgate Inn the South Tamworth TAB’s facilities will undergo a major renovation and refurbishment over the next month.

The TAB will re-open on Friday June 27 as a Platinum, top of the range TAB facility.

“The new look TAB will be more modern and will bring the facility into line with the trend toward Super TABs,” owner of The Pub Group Bevan Douglas said.

“While the changes will involve some major structural work it’s important people who use the facility regularly know that they can still place their bets at a temporary TAB located at the bar”.

The Southgate’s TAB facilities will continue to be co-ordinated by Leigh Murphy who has run the South Tamworth TAB for the past 33 years. Ms Murphy ran the TAB when it was originally established as part of the Southgate Shopping Centre Complex and moved with the TAB to the Southgate Inn 14 years ago.

“Leigh and Mel Heywood will continue to look after customers when the TAB has been refurbished,” Mr Douglas said.
