She finished well ahead of runner-up Tracey Pitt who shot 352 and was also the A grade handicap winner with 280.

Lesley Jeffriess, better known as one of Tamworth’s leading thoroughbred trainers, was the other big winner of the day when she took out the veterans’ club championship with a score of 356.

She was also runner-up in the A grade handicap event with 292 and that was also enough to make her the division one winner.

Maree Kempton cleaned up in the B grade events, with her 384 good enough to take the B grade championship after a play-off with Hellen Foster.

Kempton was also runner-up in the B grade handicap and won the division three title with 296.

Nancy Cruickshank won the C grade championship with 425 ahead of Jan Hayes on 427.

Sue Birrell took the D grade title with 469 and Norma Ryan was next best with 472.

Elaine Lye’s 295 won her the B grade handicap prize and she also won division two.

Sue Nelson (302) was C grade handicap winner and Mandy Sullivan (300) took out the D grade handicap event while Judy King was the division four winner with a score of 300.

In all, there were 74 players in the field.

The competition was played over four rounds over the past two weeks.
