Tudors nail Kiwis with early  flourish
27/08/2008 | TUDOR Wests started the Subaru Super Stix final round in the same winning fashion they have played the season, scoring a two-goal success over Kiwi Diggers on Saturday. The competition leaders were up 3-nil before Kiwis could put a goal in the back of the net, and they didn’t concede another to finish on top 3-1. It was their first win of a Saturday and again they imposed themselves early.
26/08/2008 | FLAMES returned to their best form after a disrupted representative season to overwhelm Joe Maguires Waratahs 5-1 in Sunday’s Tamworth first grade women’s clash. Naomi Spark led the goalscoring way for Flames, scoring twice and organising plenty of attacking play while Julie Rodda, Jamaya Ferguson and Libby McHugh, who also rifled home two goals in second grade, scored for Flames.
26/08/2008 | SERVICES outlasted a strong challenge from Tudor Wests on Saturday, slamming four unanswered second-half strikes for a 4-2 Tamworth women’s first grade win. It was a fighting effort from the competition leaders, after countless chances in the first half for no reward and a two-goal deficit, with Genelle Tomlinson and Em Lockyer finishing off for Tudors.

Resurgent South too good for Workies
25/08/2008 | SOUTH United continued its Subaru Super Stix Tamworth first grade men’s hockey resurgence with a two-goal win over Services Workies on the Poligrass surface yesterday. Tudor Wests had beaten reigning premiers Kiwis 3-1 on Saturday through goals from Ben Chew, Richard Willis and Sam Holt.

The match was played during a break in the action at last weekend’s NSW State Veterans’ Championships to celebrate the centenary of women’s hockey in NSW, and featured a handful of local players.
